When you are traveling around the Virgin Islands, visiting beaches and sightseeing, please travel as lightly as you can. Although the islands are beautiful, there is always someone on the lookout for a quick buck.
If you are going to the beach, don’t pack along more money than you need – and if at all possible, do not leave anything of value on the beach unattended. Your backpack with some sunblock, a book and a towel will be much easier to replace than a large amount of cash, credit cards and (let’s hope not…) your Passport!
Your hotel safe is where the majority of ’slightly needed’ items should remain.
Remember, you do not need your passport for most of the things you will do. If you visit the British Virgin Islands, or another neighboring country, you will need your passport, but for getting around the island, your dirvers license will do just fine.
