Located near the end of Route 35 lies Megans Bay, a one mile long, U-shaped beach with calm waters and a gentle slope into the water.  This beach, which has shower and changing facilities, plus a full service bar and take out window for pizza, sandwiches and salads, is great for the whole family.

There are pavilions and picnic tables dotted along the beach.  Snorkeling is better towards the left end of the beach.  Snorkeling gear is available for rent.

A nice boutique with an array of swim and surf wear, sunblock and accessories is located right next to the restaurant and bar area.

This is the most famous beach on St Thomas, noted as one of the top ten most beautiful beaches in the world by National Geographic.

An entrance fee of $4/per person (as of 2008) is charged as you enter.  This fee is used to maintain the beach, restrooms and changing facilities.

It is believed that Sir Francis Drake would harbor his ships in the bay, while the fleets chasing him would pass by in the waters beyond.
