All along the St John beaches, you can find good snorkeling. At Leinster, you have access to Waterlemon Cay. A short swim across a 20ft deep area, with a lot of sea grass, will get you to a very popular snorkeling area. Keep your eyes out as you go across the sea grass, as you will often find sea turtles feeding.
A word of caution – as noted on quite a few references – watch the current and definitely be sure of your swimming skills if you are going to swim to Waterlemon Cay.
Back on Leinster, you will find a mostly pebbly beach with coral remnants, but you can find sand areas for easier access to the water.
Toilets and trash services are available, but no showers or other facilities at this beach.
Leinster is across from the Annaberg ruins, to give you a sense of location. Make sure you trek up to the ruins while you are there for a tour of an old molasses producing plantation.
