Great Bay Beach

A great name for a great beach... it's Great Bay! Home to the lavish Ritz Carlton Club, Great Bay is a large beach on the far eastern side of St. Thomas looking out towards St. John across the sound. The beach is split into two sections with a rocky area in between and a walking path that connects them. The beach on the southern part is called Turtle Cove Beach and it is home to the Ritz Carlton Resort. Both sections are adjacent to the resort, which offers restaraunts and bars for patrons who are not staying at the resort. Make sure to check which amenities at the beach are offered to those who are not staying at the resort.

There are two options for parking for Great Bay. The easiest is to drive to Vessup Beach and park there and walk over, which is less than a minute walk to the northern portion of the beach. The other, but more limited in space, option is to drive to the Ritz Carlton and to find the public beach parking lot. This sits between the two sections of the beach making it the easier option if you are looking to go to the southern section.
